Gokarna, Honnavar and Murudeshwar sit in a nearly straight line along NH66 on Karnataka's Uttara Kannada coast — about 145 km end-to-end, roughly 3.5 hours of driving without stops. Each town brings something different: Gokarna's beaches and temple, Honnavar's backwaters and waterfall, and Murudeshwar's giant Shiva statue and water sports. Strung together, they make one of the most varied short coastal trips in South India.

When to Do This Trip
October to March is the sweet spot for all three towns — calm seas for water sports and boating, a flowing Apsarakonda waterfall (best right after monsoon, October–December), and comfortable travel weather throughout.
Avoid June–September if water activities are a priority — most boating, kayaking and beach water sports pause across all three destinations during monsoon.
Travelling Between Towns
A self-drive car or hired taxi is the easiest way to cover all three — NH66 connects them directly and the whole route is comfortably driveable in a day if needed.
All three towns also sit on the Konkan Railway line, so train-hopping between them (Gokarna Road → Honnavar → Murudeshwar) is a workable alternative if you're not driving.
